  • From Romania to Egypt: How Ziad’s ESC Experience Changed His Perspective

    ESC Volunteer: Ziad Ameen

After seven transformative months in Romania, Ziad Ameen has returned home to Egypt carrying with him not only memories and sketches, but also a new sense of purpose, independence, and global understanding.

Ziad joined the Arts Lab 6.0 project through the European Solidarity Corps, hosted by Supertineri and supported by MIHI. From leading art workshops to helping open experiential museums, Ziad’s work impacted both the community and his own growth.

“This experience exceeded my expectations. It changed how I see the world and myself,” Ziad reflects.

During his time abroad, he faced cultural and logistical challenges but also discovered the power of connection, adaptation, and creativity.

“I learned to communicate in a new language, work in diverse teams, take initiative, and think creatively under pressure. I also grew more confident and emotionally aware.”

Ziad highlighted the importance of international youth mobility, not just as a professional opportunity, but as a deeply human journey.

We at MIHI are proud of Ziad and grateful for his contribution. His story is a reminder that youth mobility isn’t just about traveling it’s about growing, sharing, and building bridges.

We look forward to seeing how Ziad continues to use his skills and passion here in Egypt. And we encourage more young people to step forward and live their own ESC journey!
