ESC Volunteer: Ziad Ameen
Four months into his ESC journey, Egyptian volunteer Ziad Ameen is fully immersed in life in Romania. As part of the Arts Lab 6.0 project hosted by Supertineri, he is not just volunteering, he’s co-creating, exploring, and growing.
Ziad’s daily activities include:
🎨 Leading art and design workshops with rural youth
🏛️ Sketching and documenting historical sites during his travels
🖐️ Helping local crafters promote their handmade products
🧠 Developing creative learning programs and events
🎭 Assisting in organizing cultural festivals and exhibitions
“Every day brings something new,” Ziad says. “From building alternative museums to participating in local folklore festivals, it’s been an unforgettable experience.”
Ziad has also taken every chance to dive into Romanian culture. In his free time, he visits art museums, learns the Romanian language, and travels to remote areas to understand local traditions.
“I’m learning so much not just new languages and skills, but also about myself,” he adds. “I even saw snow for the first time in my life!”
His journey hasn’t been without challenges. From cultural differences to time management, every difficulty has been a lesson in resilience. Through it all, Ziad has shown initiative, leadership, and an openness to grow.
We’re incredibly proud of Ziad and the creative, heartfelt energy he brings to this project. Stay tuned as he continues his mission in Romania and sends back more stories, photos, and inspiration!
